Trick o Treat

hallo peeps.

its 12.45 PM here now in Indonesia based on my macbook’s clock, at exactly October 31^st 2010. Know whats that mean? It’s an afternoon of the famous Halloween day.

I’m not a big fan of Halloween, in fact I hate it. Several reason why I hate it:

1.     A sudden bumped to a scary ghost girl on a mall (wth?!), and even my friend twit that he met a corpse on other mall.

2.     The decoration is all scary, dark and tend to dusty with spider web, and scary chandelier. And don’t you ever the blood bath. (classic)

3.     Every ad during this season is a horror. So I have to ready to switch the channel

4.     There’s no my comedy romantic kinda show on TV. (hence the ghost whisperer marathon)

5.     Even when I surf trhu sites, I always see the halloween terror. Arghh.

I gotta ask though, why people associate this holiday to something this scary? Why don’t let this one be more festive, with a cute pumpkin, and colors. Thus people can be more creative with the costume.  Forget the  old, scary nurse, or headless dutch, or vampire, or other scary creatures. Why don’t celebrate it with something more cute or sexy, even out of box.

i feel so sad when i hear the news about what happen in my country: earthquake followed by tsunami in Mentawai, Sumatera Barat, and mt. Merapi vulcano eruption, Jogjakarta. 

God bless my country and i hope these tragedy will be over soon.

oh and also this never ending pouring rain that caused a traffic jam and lots of accident like flood, and even some people swept away with the stream. it is so scary.

Lets pray for Indonesia.

fyi. this Mentawai island is one of the most wellknown surfing spot. Mentawai has this extraordinary wave. even Jack Johnson loves it.

Man in my life

Hello peeps.
hmm, i have no idea what to write.. My life is pretty flat,  i think it dulls me.  My activity is everything as far from my bed to my bathroom. So its revolving around watching dvd, surf thru sites, and fulfill my basic need as human being, like sleep, eat, bath, and charge my blackberry.

Since watching dvd is the most brain-involve activity, i would like to spare you guys about my kind of dvds. which is a serial. random kind of serial. Name it modern family, gossip girl, the vampire diaries, true blood, the simpsons, and of course how i met your mother.(oh and a little bit of ugly betty to see how beautiful she is on the very last episode). after watch any, i could be a crazy girl who obsessed with the serial, and also, I'm a type of girl who easily fall in love with the lead actor on any movie I watch. Yap, easy girl. Here is the short list who I obsessed with:

1. Phill Dunphy - Modern Family

 

a dorky kind of husband whose trying so hard to look cool. He's still trying to stay hip... by memorizing all the dances to High School Musical.

"...we're all in this togetherr..."

why i like him? he can be weird, stupid, but funny and sweet at the same time.  he can be flirty sometime, but always love claire (his wife). He uses a parenting method that he calls "peerenting", which is a combination of talking like a peer but acting like a parent. He is a real estate agent who is very confident in his work, Pretty success I might add. I bet life would be lovely whit him.

2. Chuck Bass - Gossip Girl

O yeah, who doesnt know this man. He is every girls dream (and sometimes nightmare). He is filthy rich with his Bass empire. He could be mean and despicable, but when it comes to heart, he would do anything. this type of man can be easily melt any girls heart, especially when he treats her with special gift like Harry Winston. But dont you ever play with him, he can easily take you down!

If you adore fancy thing, find a man who similiar with this Chuck Bass. Not that I'm a golddigger, but hey, us girl need a security am i rite?

3. Damon Salvatore - The Vampire Diaries

uuhh look at those eyes! I'm literally glamoured. Yes, no to explain that he is a young vampire that has live for century. I brought him on my list not because of this teen vamp phenomenon, but I cant resist those eyes, man. he is the type of bad boy who you can easily hate and love with. a very thin line there.

He act impulsively. he claim himself a loner that doesn't need girl or friend, as long as he has blood to slurp to. But instead, he is romantic at heart. aww yes he cares. to his love (elena), and to his friend,  and to his brother (damon). a lover and a family man who can be naughty and romantic at the same time? just bite me already damon.

4. Eric Northman - True Blood

 

 Pretty much like damon salvatore, Eric Northman is a vampire-man who can easily melt my heart out. but instead with the eyes, i drool over his yummy body. He own a bar so he is a business man. He is the strong, silent type, which I have a very large weakness for. Protective, but out of chivalry, not out of jealousy. He's kind of an asshole sometimes, but he always manages to be an asshole in a really attractive way.

he's a bit rough, though still has a heart. so if you lookin for a love and lust, come to him, he'll provide.

5. Barney Stinson and Ted Mosby - How I Met Your Mother

 

i can not manage myself to choose between this two. I love them on their own skin. and their diff are like black and white.one is looking for soul mate, and one is to get laid. Ted is an average guy, who have a job as professor and building a GNB headquarter building, so economically steady. he also a helpless romantic, and just looking for a wife material. Meanwhile, Barney, is a womanizer who devoted his life to conquer every kind of woman in every way. He might say so, but he still a gentle man when it comes to heart, he loves Robin though he didn't notice. and he also loves his mom which is good.

that's a top 5 on my list. there is pretty much a bunch of my virtual lover, i might add later. :p

Things you would (Most Likely) find in my bag

Now, I give you guys the opportunity to peek my bag. Most of my bag is a tote that can carry as much as i want, which is so many things. I love a big bag. like a Longchamp Large tote (Dimensions are 19″W x 12½”H x 7″D). With it, i can carry like anything. It would be life extra heavy for others to carry, but for me: Thats life. life’s tough man, so be it :p

Here is the thing you would find in my so-called BIGBAG:

1. my purple handmade snake-skin wallet.
2. comic book. i need laugh to kill some extra time.
3. ipod touch 1st generation 16GB. its almost full with music and movie. LIFESAVER.
4. erha loose powder for my sensitive skin.
5. contact-lens case for sudden needs
6. Blackberry Bold. my Blackberry is so Dumb. and its battery life is sucks.
7. Marc Jacob Daisy solid parfume. and it can also be used as a necklace. LOVELY.
8. Ipad. yeah apparently i bring this tech wherever i go. it makes my bag so heavy but i dont mind. i need that thing to support my boredom needs. with the iBooks in it, and all of its game.
9. contactlens eyedrop. no need to explains.
10. in my makeup kit (allow me to say my green handmade snake-skin purse a makeup kit :p) i have:

• Sephora black eyeliner. so far it is the best eyeliner for my eyes. make my eyes bolder and brighter. and i dont have to worries i would like a daywalking zombie.
• clinique happy perfume. yes, even with the daisy solid, i still bring the spray for instant need.
• mac see sheer lip stick. THUMBS UP. Recomended.
• Khiels “Golden Berry” Lip Gloss.
• Khiels Lip Balm #1. THUMBS UP. MUST HAVE.
• Bobby Brown Blemish Cover stick natural Beige. to cover my blemish since i have that problem in my skin. like i said before my skin is so sensitive. and this thing is like a lifesaver for my skin face.
• Ricola. No need to explain. i love this candy. since it is sugar free and minty.

and oh, i forget to include the Blackberry charger in the picture. this is one thing i cant leave the house without. for the sake of my social life, especially with my stupid blackberry batt.

Shoes dilemma

I'm having a wee bit problem here and i need your professional advice. If you have to choose, which one is better. the black rubi clogs or the brown one? I want both but apparently I can't. Really really appreciate your honest opinion.

Ps. Isn't the black heels rather weird? Or not?

No, I'm not in some kind of cheap bar. at least in a cheap bar i could get some nice cold drink. I'm in Jambi now, and I'm not writing for my ipad. I'm in this friggin Internet Rental. it is a small dark room that has a 3 or 4 row of PC aligned and 4 cubicles for anyone need privacy, so people could come and browsing or surfing. its just so scary here. like the title, you'll be welcomed with smokey smell and loud music. and in the corner of the room you could see a bunch of boys playing RPG or other stuffs (suspiciously porn. ewww). you must be questioning why on earth i end up at this place. Its simple tho. because i need and internet, computer, and printer to print my sis id card and her photo id. Its because they told me this jambi trip is gonna be a short trip so i left my pinkmac there in jakarta urggghhhhh.

So yeah here i am. And while i'm waiting for the internet buffers, i just want to share to you guys that the big ceremony and receiption for my sister wedding is officially done. It was held yesterday weekend on october 8th and 9th, 2010. Its tiring but still who cant resist the wedding euphoria, especially for us girls. I just wanna get married.. Haha. About that i'm gonna post some pict later.

Before i come to this internet rental, i went to "tina mitra". It is a small shop that sells a snakeskins-ware, like a bag, shoes, wallet, belt etc etc. I'm quite proud with this brand, because it bring this town name to national and international market. And to prove my proudness, I had 2 tina mitra bags, and i love them so much. So, on the past jambi trip, i went there and order tina's shoes, made specially for my big wide foot.(42 in indonesia size, 10 in USA, 9 in Europe). And my order has finished so i stop by to pick it up. Here is the picture:

What do you think? Its a hand-made-snake-skin-nude-color-peep-toe wedges hhfiiuhh what a name! Its quite simple though, but so comfy. and I'm still looking for a tory burch flats.. Where do i suppose to look? Esp. With my particular size kyaaaaa.

Beberapa dari kita baru mendengar kata ini. Jujur saya pun baru mendengar kata ini dariteman saya melalui twitter. Hipster. Apa sih artinya? dari beberapa situs yang saya kunjungi, istilah hipster mengarah kepada anak muda, baik kota kecil maupun kota besar (pada umumnya pada kota besar) yang sangat masa kini. Hip. Yang seleranya diatas rata-rata orang biasa (apalagi alay, jauh diatas alay). Biasanya selera hipster itu tidak mengikuti pasaran yang ada, tidak mengikuti mainstream katanya. Walaupun ketika semua org mulai terkena sindrom hipster ini, disitulah mainstream masyarakat mulai berubah. 

Pada umumnya para hipster ini tidak suka dengan istilah yang dijuluki terhadap mereka. Mengapa? Karena mereka cenderung merasa bahwa mereka tidak sedang mengikuti trend yang ada. Mereka seolah mempunyai jalur sendiri yang biasanya merupakan jalur indie. Hal ini lah yang membedakan hipster dengan alay. Trend yang sedang mereka ikuti (sadar atau tidak sadar) itu lebih high class. Dan sama seperti alay, hipster juga memiliki ciri-ciri yang gampang ditemui. Inilah berikut ciri-ciri hipster:

1. Selera musiknya tidak dikenal oleh orang kebanyakan. Semakin aneh justru semakin disukai oleh para kaum hipster. Jangan coba-coba mengetes selera musik kaum hipster, karena untuk nama-nama aneh tersebut mereka akan menjawab "gue tahu tuh... Tapi gue belum denger lagu-lagunya. Keren ya?". Flo rida, britney spears, kanye west... They just dont like it. Oh mungkin mereka akan suka dengan musik-musik mainstream, tapi hanya jika musik tersebut berasal dari tahun 80an ke bawah. Ingat, no mainstream.

2.   Bagaimanadengan selera fashion para hipster? Hmmm.. Seperti alay yang sangat gampang diidentifikasi, hipster juga terkenal dengan skinny jeans, kemeja flanel, kaos2 band (semakin aneh bandnya tentu makin bagus) ala-ala junkfood, dan para hipster memang menyukai indie, tapi tidak untuk belanja clothing di distro, sudah pasaran. oh dan jangan lupa wayfarer ray ban serta kafiyeh. Sepertinya standar ya..

3. Kemana para hipster ini biasanya hang out, tentu saja ke kafe-kafe kecil yang sedang hip. Tapi tidak boleh terlalu hip, karena when something is too hip, is not hip anymore. Oh jangan lupa, para hipster biasanya menyukai seni, jadi art gallery merupakan tempat yang menarik bagi mereka. Tempat-tempat yang aneh, unik, dan sepi merupakan meeting point untuk mengambil gambar diri mereka dengan gaya-gaya yang sangat artistic untuk kemudian di upload pada blog atau tumblr.

Sepertinya sekian dulu pengamatan saya terhadap kaum hipster, saya akan menambahkan apabila t Saya menemui hal-hal baru mengenai hipster. Kesimpulan nya hipster adalah kaum yang mempunyai ciri khas tersendiri, trendy karena tidak mengikuti pasaran masa kini, stunning karena seleranya yang berbeda. Tidak ada yang salah menjadi hipster, namun ada juga yang berusaha terlalu keras sehingga jatuhnya dia hanya poser yang suka mengikut-ikut namun gagal. Hmmmm.

Recently, the word 'Wedding' buzzing unusually often in my ear. My sister's wedding, my cousin's wedding, an invitation from friend of a friend's wedding, and my own future wedding. Yap, I'm 22 and this already a big issue.

Yesterday weekend, i attended my cousin's, and i rejected the invitation from my friend to escort him to his friend's wedding. After all, He will be the best man there, and I'll be alone surrounded by complete stranger. So yeah, I chose my relative's over his. This wedding is pretty normal. A batak-kind-of-normal.

it was so unusual for me and my family to wait until the party over, but yesterday we were. because we waiting one of my brother to come (and he was SO late). so we waited. and suddenly my cousin called us from the stage and ask us to come to the front because the bride gonna throw the bouquet. FYI, this is not a tradition for us batak. and the singles left is just me, my 2 sisters, and my 2 brothers. weird. So six of us competed to get the bouquet. And I'm the one who got it!!

So the big Q is "will I be the next?"

Nay, I still have one older sister, there is no way I could skip her. not impossible, but my boyfriend still work his a*s off. so maybe it still 3 or 4 years later. still a long way to go. or maybe to even think about it.
